National Women In Sport Day

Table Tennis Ireland is excited to invite participants to sign up and come along to our National Women In Sport Day, which will take place in DCU Sport Centre on Saturday 19th November, 2016.

The event is free of charge for all affiliated members, and will showcase Women’s Table Tennis for ALL FEMALE players, coaches and participants, young and old, at the fantastic Dublin venue.

We are urging players of all levels to come along and enjoy what we hope will be a memorable occasion for all involved!

The schedule for the day will be 10am – 5pm, with various activities taking place as part of the programme!

The Coaching Team

There will be 2 special guest coaches present on the day:

 Charlotte Carey – Welsh Number 1 & Professional Player (Pictured)

– Lucia Colovickova – Slovak National Girls Coach

Also in attendance will be Head Irish National Coach, John Murphy and Lead Coach for Women’s Table Tennis, Mark O’Flynn.

Guest Speaker on Nutrition

There will be a guest speaker present on the day who will give a short talk on Nutrition in Sport and its importance to the health and well-being of people of all levels!

Female Coach Education

To avail fully of the special guest coaches in attendance, we will be holding a short Coach Education seminar on the day, which will involve demonstrations as well as a Q & A session.

Teacher Training Session

We will also be running a 2.5 hour session in ‘Table Tennis Fundamentals’ for all interested female primary and secondary school teachers who have an interest in teaching Table Tennis at school! The session will run from 2pm – 4:30pm. Teachers will learn the basics, including simple technical points, fun games and match rules – as well as going away with a Table Tennis Ireland Completion Certificate in Table Tennis Fundamentals!

Participation is free and all participants will receive a National Women In Sport t-shirt as part of the day!
